negotiation

* What types of negotiation exist?

There are 2 types of negotiations that will define precisely the process of this activity.

On one side is competitive negotiation. Taking positions based on one that gets what he wants or one that gets more and therefore less. Here is the relationship Winner – Loser, in which one party ends up getting susintereses and the other not.

Usually this type of negotiation, the losing party does not want to never negotiate with the winning party either because he knows he will always lose or do not feel comfortable negotiating with you.

Then there is the collaborative negotiation. Based on the interests of the 2 parts. In this type of negotiation, it is intended that the 2 parts arrive as close as possible to their interests.

It seeks to create a warm atmosphere of negotiation and relationship between the 2 parties for further negotiations. Obviously this type of negotiation is desirable but always depends on our position of power, preparation, ability and so on.

To see an example of power situations, you can see any movie about gangsters. An example of this is “The Godfather.” Like it or not the person who has to negotiate with the Godfather, is always going to feel intimidated and this will make you want to or not, the negotiations turn out to be unfavorable for him.

* What types of businesses exist in this process?

Obviously in any negotiation process will be different styles of negotiation, they are:

Soft Negotiator:
Wants to avoid conflict at all costs and it makes concessions. Regularly disappointed because the other party to profit from the situation. Obviously it is neither good nor bad to be a negotiator soft (I will explain later why that), everything depends on our strategy.

Tough Negotiator:
Considered to take the most extreme situations and bring the final will win. This is obviously negotiating any price to get the best benefit for your party and let the other party as a result of smaller goals that you want.

Interest Negotiator:
Under this approach reflects what you really want every person or rather what you are interested in obtaining or resolve the conflict. This type of negotiator is queel process is carried smoothly and the 2 parts arrive as close as possible to the objectives expected by the end.

  • Thank you for the sensible critique. Me and my neighbor were just preparing to do some research about this. We got a grab a book from our area library but I think I learned more from this post. I’m very glad to see such fantastic info being shared freely out there.
